Mother (Modron) was the primal Goddess of the Celts, and her Son (Mabon)
is the Divine Child, Wondrous Youth of British Celtic tradition
- the Son of Light. The Mystery of the Divine Child is a
universal archetypal pattern appearing in both mythology
and religion of all countries and times.
In the Celtic Mysteries, Mabon is conceived by Otherwordly magic.
He is lost after birth or hidden away to be raised
in secret (fostered in the Celtic tradition),
and develops magical powers of prophecy, wisdom,
healing, music and poetry.
