Silicon Valley Irish Fleadh
St Stephens Green Downtown Mountain View
The 2016 and third edition of the Silicon Valley Irish Fleadh features a terrific entertainment lineup that represents the best of both traditional and modern in Irish Music. Wildly acclaimed at last year Silicon Valley Irish Fleadh, The Shams are becoming a staple of the Silicon Valley Irish Fleadh and are returning both days this year with a whole new set. Also appearing for the first time on our stage is our second headliner of the week end, Culann’s Hounds. Fierce like their namesake, Cu Chulainn, Culann’s Hounds have built a reputation for stage shows filled with high-energy and a ruthless dedication to rocking their audiences. Folk melodies, sensibilities, and stories permeate their music with origins in Ireland, France, and early America.
Opening the days, along performances from Martin L and the Whelan Kennelly Dance Academy, are The Wild Rovers, The Crooked Road Ceili Band and The Kavanaugh Brothers.
The word Fleadh, pronounced “Fla”, is the Gaelic word for Festival. It is a gathering and celebration of Irish culture and traditions bringing people together to share festivities, happiness and joy. Returning to downtown Mountain View for its third year, the Silicon Valley Irish Fleadh expands upon the famous traditional Irish hospitality to embrace and encompass all our surrounding communities.
This two-day event features Irish performers both traditional and modern, Irish dancers, Irish arts & crafts, Irish food vendors and a Kids’ Zone.
